A ball valve is a handy shut-off tool. It controls the flow of gases, liquids, or vapors in pipes. It uses a round ball inside. Two seats hold the ball steady. A shaft links it to a handle or motor that moves it. The design lets you control flow exactly. When the ball’s hole lines up with the pipe, fluid flows through. Ball valve conditions are depend on their materiaL: stainless steel (-40°C to 220°C), PVC (-10°C to 60°C), and brass (-20°C to 60°C).
Gate valves work between -10°C and 120°C. They handle pressures up to 16 bar (232 psi). These make them good for low-pressure setups like water pipes.

Gate valves need regular cleaning. This stops dirt, dust, or grime from piling up inside or outside.
Choosing between ball valves and gate valves depends on a few things:
